Meet the EOS 200D – the world's smallest and lightest DSLR camera

Canon EOS 200DCanon has today launched the EOS 200D (USA: Rebel SL2; Japan: Kiss X9) , the world’s lightest Canon DSLR with a vari-angle screen and with the world’s fastest Dual Pixel CMOS Auto Focus.

Top-range, new technology for 2017

First introduced with the EOS 5D Mark IV,
the EOS 200D features the world’s fastest Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus, ensuring that the camera quickly and accurately focuses and that subjects are the sharpest they can be. The newest APS-C 24.2 MP sensor improves low-light performance and reduces image noise too.

What’s more, this diminutive camera is powered by Canon’s latest processor, DIGIC 7. The brain of the camera is quick-thinking and optimises settings automatically in any situation.

Easy-to-use and exceptional image quality

The EOS 200D boasts an optical viewfinder as well as a vari-angle screen with touchscreen capabilities. And, to help you learn how to navigate round your camera more quickly, it's equipped with Canon's new Guided Interface. First featured on the EOS 800D (Rebel T7i) and EOS 77D announced earlier this year, this visual guide means that anyone transitioning from a compact or smartphone will be able to take control over the camera more quickly and intuitively.

Connected and savvy

There's a new self portrait mode – this feature offers skin smoothing and background blurring for selfie addicts. And, as the EOS 200D is compatible with smartphones and features built-in Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth, you can share your selfies and more on social media via the free Canon Camera Connect app.

Pricing and availability
The EOS 200D will be available in black, white or silver and tan from July 2017 onwards with an RRP of £579.99/€719.99 body only
