Canon adds EOS M6 to its mirrorless line-up

EOS M6 with built-in flash
The EOS M6 makes its debut today, offering all of the functionality and features of the popular M5 in a smaller, more compact body. Equipped with a 24.2MP APS-C sensor, Dual Pixel CMOS AF with 45 cross-type AF points, DIGIC 7 processor and two top thumb dials, this powerful camera offers control and quality.

It's equipped with Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth connectivity and offers remote control via your smartphone. Using Bluetooth you can also view the images on your camera directly on your connected phone.

Capable of achieving 7fps (frames per second) or up to 9fps with fixed AF, the M6 also has in-camera five-axis video stabilisation – for smoother movie shots – and full HD 60p video.

The M6 has a large 3.0 inch tilting touchscreen and has the option of adding an electronic viewfinder.

Available in two colours:
The EOS M6 (body only) will be available in black or silver from April 2017 with an RRP of £729.99/€989.9
The EOS M6 (in black or silver) with EF-M 15-45mm f3.5-6.3 IS STM will be available from April 2017 with an RRP of £839.99/€1,139.99

An all-new viewfinder
Also introduced today is the Electronic Viewfinder EVF-DC2, a compact and lightweight external electronic viewfinder for both compatible EOS M cameras – including the EOS M6 – as well as a range of PowerShot models. The new 0.39-type viewfinder includes a 2.36 million dot display that reveals every intricate detail, while 100% coverage ensures everything the eye can see is captured in the shot. The Electronic Viewfinder EVF-DC2 shows movement in real time with up to 120 fps refresh rate and makes it easy to swap between screen and viewfinder shooting, simply by raising the camera to your face, for truly responsive shooting. Weighing just 29 g, it’s a compact item for when you need that extra compositional tool.

The Canon Electronic Viewfinder EVF-DC2 will be available in either black or silver from April 2017 with an RRP of £219.99/€279.99
