Recommended lenses for EOS 5DS and 5DS R

Which EF lenses are good enough to match the 50.6 megapixel resolving power of the EOS 5DS and 5DS R sensor?

The designers of Canon lenses have obviously been aware of this high-resolution sensor for some time. Canon says that EF lenses introduced since the second half of 2013 will give maximum performance with the new cameras. 

Canon has been testing other lenses in its range and has now published a list of lenses which offer the required resolution. You will find details here (scroll down until you reach the heading 'Recommended lenses'):

Of course, any EF lens will fit the new cameras, but the results might not match the performance of the latest lenses.

Firmware updates for EOS-1D X Mark III, R3, R5, R6 Mark II and R8

Firmware updates have been introduced for five Canon EOS cameras.  EOS-1D X Mark III: firmware version 1.8.0 1.
