EOS magazine in merger to provide one-stop resource for EOS enthusiasts

Robert Scott Publishing, the owner of EOS magazine, has joined forces with the EOS Training Academy. By adding the Academy to its existing range of EOS activities, the company now provides a unique one-stop solution for keen photographers wanting to learn how to use their Canon EOS camera, lenses and accessories for the best results.

The EOS Training Academy provides practical courses and one-day workshops for EOS photographers. Combined with EOS magazine’s existing classroom-based programme, this will broaden the reach and accessibility of EOS-specific training within the UK. The extended programme will offer in excess of 100 courses and events in 2016, from camera-specific workshops to practical events at varied locations.

Alongside the workshop programme sits the EOS Online Training Academy, a subscription-based video streaming service which currently features over 320 video tutorials. First launched in January 2014, this library of EOS-specific training modules offers photographers worldwide the opportunity to learn about their camera and photography from the comfort of their own homes and at their own pace.

Nina Bailey and Brian Hall, the founders of the EOS Training Academy, are former Canon UK employees with extensive knowledge and experience of the Canon EOS system. Both are joining the management team at Robert Scott Publishing. Nina, who will also become Technical Editor of EOS magazine, will bring her extensive training and writing skills to the expanded organisation. Brian will be able to use his considerable experience at board level in the imaging industry to help develop the new combined business.

Firmware updates for EOS-1D X Mark III, R3, R5, R6 Mark II and R8

Firmware updates have been introduced for five Canon EOS cameras.  EOS-1D X Mark III: firmware version 1.8.0 1. Adds the ability to register the focus position in the preset functions of the CR-A100 Camera Remote Application.
