Two new EOS cameras to suit your photography level

Introduced today are the new Canon EOS 800D and EOS 77D. Following on from the path laid by the 750D and 760D, these two new cameras offer a very similar specification but a different level of control and way of working, depending on the stage you're at in your photographic journey.

Both cameras are equipped with a 24.2MP sensor with Dual Pixel CMOS AF. The 45-point AF system – with all points cross-type – offer excellent and responsive focusing. The cameras also offer the world's fastest autofocus using Live View mode at a rapid 0.03 seconds, offering responsive handling and quick shooting at 6 frames per second (fps).

Following on from the EOS 750D, this new entry level EOS camera comes complete with a tutorial interface, so that if you're just starting our with your first DSLR you can get guidance on which settings to change to achieve the effects you want. You'll be learning about photography as you shoot, giving you confidence to shoot and skills as you go, but leaving you free to work on your composition.

For the more experienced photographer, this upgrade for the EOS 760D moves up a level in the Canon range – and rightly so thanks to its more advanced feature set and control systems. With a top LCD panel and dual control wheels, you can use your own skills and judgement to set the camera to work as you want. Plus, with added features such as Bulb mode and a built-in intervalometer, you can let your creativity roam free with long exposures and time-lapses. It's also the smallest of the mid-range cameras, weighing nearly 200g less than the 80D.
